Slingbox – The Sling Solo
Well, this week I decided to give a slingbox a try as opposed to buying another TV for my home office. I have plenty of monitor space, so I figured I could try and take advantage of that to save some money over buying a new TV, AND to be able to have the benefits the slingbox brings…being able to view all my sources from anywhere. So, I picked up a Sling Solo.

The only Slingbox shown to work with C4 (as per the CytexOne documentation) is the ProHD. I contacted CytexOne and they said they hadn’t tried the Sling Solo, so they had no idea if it would work. I took a gamble considering I only needed the single input, and 1080i was acceptable to me. Setup was really easy, and so far it works great. I haven’t had a ton of time to play with it, but plan to mess with it a lot over this next week. I will post some video of it in action as well as a full rundown/review once I spend some more time with it.
Stay tuned!

It went great. I use it all the time.
Sorry I haven’t had time to do a full review.

In adding my Slingbox HD, I needed an ethernet connection. When I inserted a wireless router to split the ethernet connection between the SB and the C4 HC300, I lost control of the HC300 and all its devices in the other room. The one where I added the SlingBox (in my family room) still works fine, but the one in my theatre now does not respond to any of my remotes. Why is that?
